Whether you're a health care professional, retired senior citizen, civic leader, or a college student your ability to intereact with others is all you need to lead our programs, we provide the training and materials.
As a Volunteer you will:

Volunteer lay leaders teach a 2 1/2 hour workshop once a week for a period of 6 weeks. Help participants with chronic conditions learn how to:
~ Find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue,
~ Discover better nutrition and exercise techniques,
~ Understand new treatment choices,
~ Learn better ways to talk with their doctor about their
health.

LONG TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN
Volunteers are a very important part of the Ombudsman Program. Volunteer ombudsmen receive a two-day training, commit to visiting and advocating for the residents of a long term care facility for two hours per week, and attend monthly meetings for additional training.
Required characteristics:
Ombudsman volunteers must show: reliability, tact, resourcefulness, perseverance, and a sense of humor. Ask you local Ombudsman Supervisor for more information about this unique volunteer opportunity.
